The Evening We Meet Franz Ferdinand
On monday I was told that I won the VIP passes and the double Meet&Greet. Superexcited. My friend and I screamed in front of the computer.
The next day we picked up the passes and I think we saw the hotel where all bands might have stayed, it makes sense as we saw a lot of black cars and MTV logos everywhere. Then we went to the place ["City of Arts and Science"] and got lost. Then finally found the meeting place and we were so hot because of the running! We went from one point to the opposite one, running as hell. For a moment I thought I was going to be called with a "oh...don't bother, they are already here...". But no, I'd have killed myself there.
7.10pm We were taken inside, we were 10 VIPs, my friend and I the youngest (and we do believe that we were the only real fans). There were 2 other girls (we chatted with them after that and said we looked like real fans because of our effusiveness) and the rest were posh blond girls. Unfairness. Rebecca (I think she was) and other guys were there. Then Franz came: Bob, Paul, Nick and Alex.
I shook Bob's hand and thought 'I didn't came from so far to shake a hand', so I kissed him twice to what he said: 'Ops' (like it was unexpected). Then Paul, with the electric blue suit, I said: 'Paaauuul' :D. Shook hand and kisses. Then Nick and Alex the same. Alex greeted everyone: 'Hi, how you doing?' you can imagine the cuteness of that -AWKWARD MOMENT- I stared at Alex and said 'Woaw' and couldn't said anything else. Well, I think I told him I liked his hat. He nodded, looked at my friend and said 'I like your hair'. [she shaved right side of her head]
As the rest were occupied, I said 'Well, we'll chat with Nick'. Very giggly. Utter Lovely. He asked us if we were from Valencia; 'No we are from the North' 'Oooh'. Then I asked him to played again in Vigo, North coast, anything near my city. It was a little messy because my freind was telling him about León, my city, but he said 'Oh, the north coast' I'm sure that 'that's a beautiful place' was going to be said. But I think he understood. Autographs: Spelling our names, it was hilarious. When he finished he wanted to paint my face with the pen. Aww. So childish. Then my friend took her photo and loved it.
I was about to take mine but Rebecca said: Group shot. We took 2 group pics (one for me one for my friend). I went straight to Paul and Bob. I asked Paul for a pic and he said sure. LOVELY! I said 'Paul, you're great!' and then I felt how he leaned his head over mine! so I smiled harder. And the pic is totally my favourite. Autographs from Paul and Bob, and asked Bob: 'Can I hug you?' 'Sure' So cute and adorable! I couldn't think of anything else to ask him for, seriously.
And then we hurried up to get a pic with Alex and his autograph, Rebecca was saying 'the very last picture'. I missed his autograph and didn't chat with him nor Bob :( (although he seemed serious, but we all know how he is). I wished Alex good luck. That was all.
It was great as well as the gig, franztastic. Public loved them, and it was totally awesome, I wasn't in the best place and I don't have any good picture of the concert (videos aren't bad...) but I'm glad I was there because they really enjoyed too. I sang along to all the song to the despair of the people around me. Typical festival songs but great setlist. I was literally praying for Send Him Away but at least it was long enough. People freaked out because I knew which song they were playing even before they'd started (with Matinee is easy to guess) and the moment of maracas was hilarious! I screamed really loud 'pick up the maacas!' nobody seemed to understand it but yesssh he did take them.
MTV Winter Valencia will be shown 20th March worldwide, don't miss it. It'll have a wee interview I guess.
High moments of the performance: What She Came For and the awesome 40'. Oh how I loved it.
