DUUUUUUDE I have sciatica too!!!! I was diagnosed with it maybe three years ago now? I was put on Tylenol 2 and Naproxen, which did fuckall for me. What ultimately helped me was getting one of those giant exercise balls and lying on it... it's hard to describe, but you sort of stretch out your back by lying down on the ball and then just letting yourself hang there. Also, doing lower-back exercises helped me a LOT. Now, it only flares up on occassion, and it's nowhere near the sort of searing pain that I used to experience.
Are you at the point where if you've been sitting in a chair, when you go to stand up, you can't stand up completely straight for awhile and you look like somebody's gimpy old grandfather? Horrific fiery pain, but it makes for some pretty good self-deprecating humour!
Either way, good luck with it and if all else fails, there's always opiates. Hardcore opiates.
Yeah it's the worst when I sit, not even for long, then try to get up and walk like a grandma! Siaticca is so common it's scary. But it makes sense since it's really related to how active you are and how you sit e.g. slouching. I'm the worst at sitting straight and working out, making me a good target! *sigh* Back to bed!
