My 4th generation iPod Photo has been giving me all kinds of trouble lately. At some point it froze (an all too common event after a year of wear and tear) and refused to reboot. Mine won't turn off when it warms up (either after 20 minutes of data transferring or simply on a hot day). It is very frustrating *=|8+U

Sounds like a cold solder joint or a dodgy hard disk.

Best open it up and see what's wrong.

Unfortunately I lack the tools or manual dexterity to open the screwless case without damaging it.

Fortunately it has been behaving well recently. :-)
