So! This is the fic that ate my brain - the Muse has not allowed me to work on anything else for the last two months. I wanted to write something short, snarky and bantery; instead, this came out dark and angsty and talkier than a Rohmer film. I read this before, loved it and apparently did not comment.

This is lovely. I like that you managed to work in a wedding and Kara and Lee in love without it getting too sappy. I think we all understand what a difficult decision it would be, whether to stay or to keep going and that was nicely reflected.

I liked it a lot.

thank you! glad it pleased enough for you to revisit it. the show probably won't ever give the pilots a happy ending, so I had to write one for myself. :0)

I hate that I missed this the first time around, because it is just so, so good, and it makes me happy. :)

Even without the lovely romance, I adored just seeing Lee trying to figure out what his future should be -- if he even has a future -- and all the tricky personal and political negotiations. And, as you can probably guess from my fic, I love exploring Kara and Lee in a relationship. As I've said before, getting them together is easy. Keeping them together is the hard part, and often the most fascinating one. :) You've written this believably and beautifully. Thank you SO much for sharing it with us!

oh, yay! I'm thrilled that you liked it. It struck me that, apocalypse aside, Lee's of an age when ambition and love are often at odds, anyway. Then to throw brother/father/commitment/what-have-you issues at his relationship... ah, lots of lovely angsty complications.
