piloticians make a difference
Okay, doing this before I lose my nerve! I've been feeling terrified about how this election might turn out, and clueless about how to help. I don't know a lot of swing voters, and have a limited amount of bandwidth these days. But I think maybe I can do something small. Here's my drop in the bucket:
The Obama campaign is matching contributions made today, at the link below. I will write a K/L drabble for the first three people everyone who responds, if you forward to me at indigo419 at gmail the thank-you e-mail that you get after making your contribution. (It might take me a while to write them, but I WILL get them out!) You can delete the amount if you like, I don't care how much you give - I just want to get the ball rolling.
I will write drabbles for each person who forwards their confirmation e-mails. I will keep the e-mails confidential, of course! But feel free to post your drabble requests in comments below. I will get them out by this weekend (though do contribute by tomorrow to help them meet their Friday target!).

This race could pivot on a few tremendously important battleground states, and it's going to be expensive to compete there.
That's why we've set a goal of bringing 50,000 new donors into our movement by Friday at midnight.
And if you donate today, your contribution will be matched by a fellow supporter -- doubling your impact.
(it's hard to navigate to it if you start from the Obama home page, but the URL matches up with the donation page from the main site... someone with more tech savvy explain this better please! :0))
I made my donation today, and here's what my matcher posted:
"It would sure be nice to have a party in power that thinks about someone other the deep pockets people. "
FYI - you don't have to sign up in order to contribute. The starting amount listed on the matching page is $25, though maybe they'll take less if that's all you have. But think about it - double your impact!
