summer in coalinga is absolutely.fucking.brutal. i spend the majority of time in the water or at the local heavily air-conditioned college library (old habits die hard), reading for pleasure (!!!) or daydreaming while listening to bluegrass and southern spirituals

we are 720 miles from portland and right now i am happy. we've been driving practically non-stop, taking turns driving and playing bad music and tonight we are at cara's boyfriend's parents house where there are giving us pasta and salads and eucalyptus vapors for our colds and cara's boyfriend's mom even rented 9 to 5 for us so i can finally show ( Read more... ) -

i'm leaving portland tomorrow morning with cara, laura, and lauren for l.a., where i'll take a bus to my mom's little apartment complex in the middle of nowhere. hopefully julie will come visit me in la-la land and we'll eat ice cream under the sun and it won't feel like the last time we'll see each other at all ( Read more... ) -
