I've always wanted to ask random questions of my LJ friends to get to know them better. So here are a few. I can guarantee that these are not the most intelligent questions.- What are your favourite pair of shoes and why

Who can pass up a chance to talk about oneself?!osmundaceaeApril 29 2005, 07:50:33 UTC
- pair of purple suede Rocket Dogs that are literally falling apart at heel and toe but aren't made anymore and I can't stand to part company with the things....
- a few (four?) piano lessons, though I attempted to learn on my own guitar, mandolin, violin, and probably other things I can't recall atm
- finished Mishima's Confessions of a Mask the other day and YES, read it; currently reading Kundera's Immortality, which I also very highly recommend
- yes, no land line though
- yes, mostly the 70+ bus
- yes, just had a wonderful Jai Thai mai tai the other day that utterly trashed my ass and was, thusly, amazing.
- have had lotsa body piercings, but all are now gone and no tattoos
- Cancer born in the late afternoon in the Middle of Nowhere, Kansas
- I try....some days are better than others
- lj a few times a day, email lots and lots and lots
- What are your favourite pair of shoes and why? I don't own that many pairs of shoes, but I'd say my favorite pair is these super-comfy grey/red/white Vans.
- Did you take music lessons as a child, if so, what instrument? Sort of. My dad was a musician and taught me a bit here and there. He wasn't a pianist, but he taught me basic keyboard-dexterity. I'd never call myself a piano player by ANY stretch of the term, but I understand chord structure. I'm a self-taught guitarist as well.
- What was the last book you read and would you recommend it? The last book I finished? That's probably "The Bush Survival Bible." Some of it is silly, some ironic, and some of it is rather serious. It's a fun read, but nothing incredibly intellectual. The last book I read (but still haven't finished) is "Everything You Know is Wrong," which was published three or four years ago by the guys that put together disinformation. It's a very interesting read. I chalk a lot of it up to be tin-foil hat conspiracy theories, but much of it is ....

- What are your favourite pair of shoes and why? My Dansko Karyns, cuz they're so cute! And most importantly, they are comfortable as all hell. (Did I mention that I am really an old woman disguised as a perky 26-year-old?)
- Did you take music lessons as a child, if so, what instrument? Yes, I took piano lessons for several years. At first, it was because I wanted to. Then my parents bought me a new piano, I decided I hate piano, but was forced to continue lessons.
- What was the last book you read and would you recommend it? "Dragon Day" (Book 6 of "Dragonlance: The New Adventures"): I'd recommend it only if you start with Book 1 of "The New Adventures," and if you like children's fantasy.
- Do you own a mobile phone? Fo' shizzle!
- Do you use public transportation? Sho' nuff!
- Do you drink alcoholic beverages, if so, what is your currently preferred beverage?Yes; that chocolate orgasmic drink my bartender makes at the Merc. At home, something about it is just not quite right, so I stick to my Columbia Winery Cellarmaster's
