Glasses
I hate change. Hate. But let me focus on a particular change rather than the one we are all experiencing.
I broke down and let my eye doctor talk me into bifocals.
Me to my eye doctor: "How many years have I been resisting bifocals?"
My eye doctor: "All of them."

Iron Sky
We probably first watched the movie Iron Sky in 2013. It hadn't been out for long. Campy, over-the-top, we enjoyed it so much we bought a copy on DVD and inflicted it on friends.
We recently discovered that there is a sequel. In preparation for enjoying the sequel, we rewatched it.

I did it. I fell for an ad. I saw it, I thought about it, I read many many reviews. I let time pass and kept thinking about it.
I like writing checklists for my day. When talking to people in meetings, I usually prefer to take notes by actual writing, not typing. I got in the habit when doing it in person and it made people more comfortable to see ( Read more... ) -
holidays
And today ends 12 days of holiday for me. Ah, this has been lovely. No planes or trains. The only relatives I saw was my brother. I slept in my own bed every night, painted almost daily and generally lived the life I want to live after I retire. It was fantastic. sunglasses
As a wearer of glasses, sunglasses have always been a challenge.
My distance glasses have magnetic clip-on sunglasses. I like them, but they do a poor job of protecting my eyes from the burning ball. Especially on the top and sides, I still get too much light.

Live Oak trees
On the calendar it is finally fall, which is the appropriate time to plant trees before horrible burning ball fries them to death. My calendar reminders were coming to a pinnacle of reminding T to pass this by our HOA and to find a nursery for this coming weekend.
