anyone remember spirograph?

when i was a kid i spent hours playing with a spirograph...i'd pour through the design book and pick a design i wanted to make and find the right plastic ring and pin it down to the paper and pick just the right little sawtoothed wheel to lock into the matching sawteeth on the ring and pick my pen color and place it "just so" into the correct hole ( Read more... )

did you try the link and play with it awhile?... i like that the colors are so vibrant and that you don't have to worry about the rings shifting or the wheel coming out of the teeth or the pen coming out of the little hole... those were the pitfalls of spirograph... :)

i had alot of fun with the link and spent way too much time doodling with it.. :)

*nods nods nods*

and though this link is not really spirograph it reminds me so much of it.. and there aren't any of the pitfalls of spirograph here... no chance that the ring will shift while you rotate the circle... no chance that the wheel will come out of the ring's teeth... and no chance that the pen will slip out from the hole... and the colors are so vibrant! :D

i bookmarked it in my favorites and keep going back to load the page at odd times to just spend a few mins doodling with it... :)

if you fiddle with it a bit you can figure out how to get some almost square designs close to the edges and if you pass your mouse through the center it makes flower-like designs... besides the ever cools spirograph-ish circles from rolling the mouse around the dot in a circle.. :)

I loved my Spirograph and my Etch-A-Sketch...and kaleidoscopes too. But..but...*sniff sniff*...the link won't work for me. It claims I don't have a Java enabled browser. Since when is a brand new computer not Java enabled??

hrmm... and i don't know where to tell you to go in order to make your computer java enabled... maybe it's a preference or option setting?... does it pop up a window about downloading a plug in or something when you click the link?

it really is worth checking it out even if it is some extra trouble... you'd love it! :)

I'll look around for it. I already looked under Internet Options or something like that, but I didn't see it.

When I went to the link it was just a white box with black text letters in it saying, "If you see this message, then you are not using a browser that is Java enabled."
