Calling all PC Users

I have a friend who wants to buy a laptop and is trying to decide between two different processors - the Centrino and the Pentium 4 with hyperthread. For argument's sake, assume that he has the same needs as me. E-mail, minor word processing, CAD and some 3-D modelling, but no games that require massively fast video cards. What would you

Pentium 4 is faster
Centrino is probably better battery life

me, I would go with the P4, especially if CAD is a common app you want to run and you want it to run well.

i have no comment on the relative virtues of those processors.... what i can comment on is that if someone is going to buy a PC (meaning a computer running Windoze) then i strongly recommend against Dell.
