Recently, I’ve been quite apprehensive about a project for the college magazine. It involves writing separate articles for Led Zeppelin, String Instruments and the recent Cricket World Cup craze. The latter is done. It has been completed with a great deal of enthusiasm.
(On this note, hell yes. Bangladesh beat New Zealand, even after setting such a low run mark of 174. *__* Not even 3/4th the way to at least a 200, and they still won. The bowlers were awesome. It’s at times like these I love my country more than anything♥)
Problem is, when I took on the tedious task of writing at least a remotely presentable article for Led Zeppelin, I didn’t expect there to be page after page after page of information about the band. Sure, I knew it was famous--world-famous--even after three and a half decades after they disbanded, and I love whatever I’ve heard of their music so far, but I just didn’t expect them to be- I read through the entire Wiki page, studied the links closely overnight and I can’t even express-
Wow. Let’s just say I’m more than a bit overwhelmed. The article’s already almost halfway done, but now I’m not so sure about the rest. I’m trying to keep the tone pretty informal since it’s directed at readers in their late teens and early twenties, and I’m meeting that goal with a bit of success.
But, I was told to give a short and concise personal overview/recommendation of the band’s in a separate section without being biased (doesn’t that seem bit contradictory, President?). I know which songs I like, but I don’t know which songs are most popular/overrated/underrated since I haven’t really listened to all of them. DX
I’ll have to be careful with choosing since it will most probably be met with a lot of controversy/skepticism by the older students.
So here’s a meme:
♪Tell me about your top ten* favorite Led Zeppelin songs, and tell me why you like them. Try to--and this is optional--describe your preferences in terms of lyrics, musical composition and instrumental acrobatics.
*This is me asking for the impossible, given the number of albums they have, but the article has a tight word limit. DX
Another meme totally for personal reasons:
♫Give me five Incubus** songs you’d rec to everyone (preferably with links).
**If you aren't familiar with Incubus, Snow Patrol and Trading Yesterday (aka The Age of Information) are open for discussion, as well! :)
Rec away because my deadline is approaching fast! DX
Signing off,
I~
