I saw this on the news the other day where it was like a sea of lawyers in suits protesting in the streets. But you are right, it is an obvious link. I met the Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals tonight at this fundraiser/kick off to start a clinic in Baltimore for the transgender/lesbian/gay/bisexual people. I said something about how I'd heard a lot about all the things the judge has done for legal services. And he was saying he doesn't do that much. He just does his job, which happens to include fighting for civil rights. I wish more people looked at it that way.
not an obvious link at all right - especially when i think about all the assholes i went to law school with . thats nice about the judge, queer ? is he ?
Yeah, that's what I was saying. I think he is just a very modest man. I don't know if he's queer or not. He was on the dissenting opinion when the court ruled the Maryland ban on same-sex marriage was constitutional.
yeah, he sounds nice. its interesting that lawyers in the states are up in arms about pakistan too though - like there is this 'support the lawyers/ judges' in pakistan' rally here next wk , which is cool on one hand, but organized by lawyers (mostly) on the other hand - who dont ever come out to rallies , you know ?
