Sitting alone, sipping twenty-one year old whisky and editing photos while rocking out with Pandora.  I'm trying to wrap up spring's photoblitz before summer gets here.  It seems that in orchid hunting, there's a richness of easy-to-find orchids in spring and summer, but there's this empty space in June where only really rare things flower.  We ( Read more... )

I actually saw the MN state flower (which the internet says is Cypripedium reginae) IRL for the first time last weekend; I was quite pleased, though took no pictures of it--but your photo of the pink lady's slipper reminded me of that.

And I also found out (a couple days before this post is dated, I think) that BG was being re-relased. Nice to know I wasn't the only nerd who was happy about that.

Wow, you're really lucky. I'd love to see C. reginae, but it's extirpated in New Jersey.
