Thanks! No, I come from a huge family that LOVES to celebrate, but as I get older it makes me a little longer to step away from - OMG! I'm older - to yay!birthday!!! But I'm getting to the good stuff.
Well, if it matters to you that you're not married with kids I suppose it would. I'm 48 and still not grown up enough for marriage and kids so I suppose by your mum's standards I'm a sterling example of the most epic fail. *g*
It's not failure, it's just sadness that she doesn't have grandkids. My parents love kids- played foster parents to all the neighborhood and family latchkeys... So now they're all- where are the babies?
It's painful because my mom keeps hinting that I need to get married and give her grandchildren... Yesterday she told me that I couldn't wait forever because there was a "good age" for it :(
Oh, I know those words. I keep hearing them, although it's not even my birthday yet lol. I think once you get past 25, it's the cue to the parents to start asking you to settle down and have babies since you know, your eggs are wasted right now and now is the right time for you to get married. My sister keeps dropping hints to that effect.
You know what? usually, I kinda think about it, and see what she's saying, but in the end, I remind myself that I'd rather have a kid later than have it now with the wrong person. I'm in no rush, my biological clock isn't ticking yet, I still have many things I want to achieve in life before I think about having a baby. Because once I do that, my life won't be about me anymore, and so far, I kinda like it that way lol. So take comfort in the fact that you know best what the right time is for YOU, and just brush off all criticism. Easier said than done, I know, but it'll be okay. *hugs*
