Man, I suddenly have fond memories of that movie... that duel between Merlin and Mimi was one of the funniest things ever. And god, I'd forgotten had how sad it was with that girl squirell.

Thansk for doing a J2 version of this! Making Jared Lancelot(!) the owl was inspired, and casting Jeff as Merlin was fun. This was great read!

Thanks so much for reading. Yes, I bought the DVD last year, but wrote most of the fic from memory--I watched it a million times as a kid. The duel is phenomenal, but I sort of blurred over the squirrel part because it made me so sad. It's always phenomenal when Disney manages to convey so much emotion without using any discernible words, like in Wall-E.

Glad you liked the characters. I had a really hard time fitting Jared into the story ;)

Thank you, I'm glad you liked! This was one of my favorite animated movies when I was a kid. In fact, I just put a bunch of my DVDs in storage, and couldn't put that one in with them. Had to keep it with me ;)
