Failed the Bar

Nov 21, 2010 09:56

I've been writing some lately, enjoying taking part in life. And now I just found out that I have to spend another few months studying for the bar exam all over again. I also lost a job that was contingent on passing the first time. So if you don't hear from me much, please don't be surprised!

What's the update? I just failed the bar. Deciding if taking it again is worth it. And if I can handle it, etc.

I think it depends on your frame of mind. I took off from early January and immersed myself in Bar studying, but also took some time off every day. I definitely paid the 350 to barbri to examine my work and tell me what i needed to work on. If you're doing the CA bar, I will give you outlines, but otherwise look for them for your state.

And I PASSED! I also had a job this time right out of the gate, and it's worked out well. Honestly, if you think you can take the time and be productive, do it while everything is fresh in your mind. If you can't, take Feb off and do it during the summer.

This sucks, it does, but- saying this as someone who, during my studies the second time, had an aunt whose daughter was MY support diagnosed with stage 4 cancer... It's humbling how difficult it is, with the fishbowl we live in, to realize that it's not the end of the world.
