i'd rather be pissed about the random piss test. personally i have issues with employers that choose to hire and fire based on my off duty activities. if i'm not performing the job then document it and if it's a problem then fire my ass. if i am unable to do my job then something needs to be done whether it's because i'm stoned or overtired or just plain inept. an employer does not need to violate my freedom to determine why i'm not doing my job. likewise one does not need to violate a welfare bum's freedom to determine why he isn't actually trying to get off of welfare. if he isn't doing his job (trying to find a job, assuming he is able) then document it, and fire his ass, regardless of the reason why.

I always thought it would be wrong for me to be punished at work if I took a vacation to Amsterdam and had to deal with the consiqunces of legally smoking hash. So, I agree that to base your employment, or lack there of, on your out of work lifestyle choices is b.s. However, if you get injured at work and have to get tested for workers comp ... what happens then? How do I prove I wasn't stoned at work? Should your performance at work then be the deciding factor on if you lose your job or not?
