So long as the inquiries don't turn up 'evidence of homosexuality'. (Which means if they don't appear to be gay, but have molested children and managed to keep it uber-quiet, they're okay, right? :P)
Does this scream 'witch hunt' to anyone else?
Along with a whole host of other, less suitable for mixed company words?
Also: Properly preparing them for celibacy?
Didn't some way old priesthoods just castrate their new members? (No pun intended.)
I think it's a little of column A and a little of column B. I don't think they understand just how hurtful it is. And a little bit that they don't care in the name of having "standards".
And most of all, it's theologically troublesome for me, because it is the cast-out, the undesireable, the lonely that Christ most ministered to. And Christ never said anything about gay people. At all.
