The last day and a half at work has been spent learning how to 'couch' textile rips and tears. Couching is when you stabilize a fragile textile by sewing a fabric on the back of it, and then do a certain type of stitch across the worst of the tears to keep them from shredding further or getting snagged. Hey! I did that once.

... only not, because it was paper instead of fabric, and duct tape instead of fabric. So really I haven't.

I should have STARTED with paper and duct tape. I got all flaily. "GABY I DON'T UNDERSTAND I DON'T GET-- oh. I get it now."

Sweetie, it's in your genes. Before you came along, I made all my own clothes, drapes, tablecloths and cute little Christmas things up the wazoo.
It comes from the McCann side ---- the Zimmermans can't even find a needle and thread.

Anyway, I'm proud of you, too.

I used a sewing MACHINE today, even! Somewhat badly. But I'd improved markedly by the end.
