Greasemonkey

I keep hearing good things about Greasemonkey especially the comment unfolder, however, it's for Firefox. Is there a way to get it to work with Opera? I love the idea of the comment folder but I'm also rather fond of Opera.

How? I downloaded the file but it saves it as greasemonkey-0.6.8.20070314.0-firefox.xpi as I can't figure out what to do with it from there. It's probably something ridiculously easy.

I can't remember what you actually do. I have it saved in a file but I can't remember why. Google it?

Here, with the caveat that I couldn't get it to work. Curses, foiled again! Still not switching to Firefox, though.

Hee! It took me time and goggling on 2 different nights but I just got it to work. yay! I created a folder on my c drive called scripts. I downloaded the greasemonkey file into that file. When that didn't work I goggled and found that script files need to be labled scriptname.user.js - I interpreted this to mean I should call the file greasemonkey.user.js - so I changed it to that last night. It still didn't work. Tonight I poked about some more and then realised I hadn't actually saved the unfolder script. Bettina's journal entry that you linked me to had a link for the actual unfolder script. I just clicked on it and then the text page that comes up, I saved into the script folder as unfolder.user.js and lo and behold it worked.

Of course I had already done this: (cut and pasted from Bettina)

n Opera you go to Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Content -> JavaScript Options. And then you choose a folder where you will save all your user Java Script files. And then you just save the greasemonkey script in that folder and ( ... )

It still hates me! I've got the Unfold link, and when I click on it it says Loading, then...nothing happens. Woe. Oh well, I'm glad you got it to work. *g*
