I have been on sabbatical - apologies. But that can't go on; I miss you guys too much. And I miss writing! So I'm back, although I'm not even sure I can remember how to do this. But I must anyway. So there.

Jayne would've died before he'd own as much, but Mal was the first one he'd look to when things got a little crazy.
And strangely, momentarily sweet. Jayne's hardly my favorite character in Firefly, but he was fun here. If only because he was so confused.

I'm good, I'm taking a bio class over the summer and my classmates are annoying, but I'm doing well in it; I'm about to be a senior and that's terrifying, I'm going to be in London in July, so that's...exciting. Overall, good times.

Quite the linguist, is Claude. Much to Bennet's chagrin (<-- hey would you look at that? My own personal canon still live and kickin'!)
And apparently he's invested in some way with the Tams, which of course provides me with the very interesting new bit of personal canon that Simon and River are distant Petrelli descendants.

Odd that Claude would choose Jayne to talk to, of all people. The one who's proven himself to be capable of betrayal- though I'm not sure when this is taking place in Firefly canon.
I deliberately left that flexible, but I suspect it's before Ariel. And I think if there's any real conversation to be had, Claude'll talk to Mal - but he just enjoys baiting Jayne, if only because it's so easy.

Actually, visiblemarket once taunted me quite cruelly with the possibility of Firefly!Plaude in which Peter was at the Academy with River and gets busted out by I think Nathan, and Claude's the captain of a Firefly-class ship. I couldn't help thinking of that during this fic. But in a way that made this fic all the more enjoyable, I promise!

I think I have a story somewhere where it's implied that Claude was always better at Russian because Bennet could never shake his American accent ... Proximity, maybe, but I don't recall!
