I'd say Skype too, but an older version of it overloaded my computer a few years back. I've got the newer version on a new computer and it seems to work ok, but I don't really use it enough (read: ever) to really opine.

Thanks! On Vista or XP? This one is still XP - I was looking at the sys requirements and they say it works with XP, but sometimes older OS do worse with new programs and sometimes they do better (read: not crash.). Our video card is new, at least.

We're happy with a cam on yahoo... and there's an option that allows for voice cam too... I forget what it's called at the moment. Lol, we've only used the voice option with each other. In the same room. We are lame.

This compy is on XP and the cam was on it. Hubby's is Vista.

We've never skyped, so no opinions there. :(

Thanks! I've been emailing my brother on the other end to see what he has on his 'puter - I figure it would be easier if we ended up with the same program (am I right in guessing different programs don't 'talk' to each other? It looks like you have to pay for 'off-Skype' calls, which makes me wonder). Waiting to hear back from him (and trying to figure out what my sister put on this computer before we got it; we still can't see youtube video, except when it's re-routed through another site like vodpod. *shrugs ( ... )
