I'm doing pretty well! I keep changing jobs and moving (seriously, 3 times in the last year or so), which...doesn't make me sound great, haha, but it's for good reasons! Still, I'm at a nonprofit now and I'm planning on sticking for this one.
I'm so glad you're still doing music PR! Are you still loving it? Email me!!
Thank you so much! I'm really, really happy you liked this. It's a story that's been long in my head and it's unnerving that it's out and about now you know? I'm really happy the structure and interplay worked for you!
I think this may be one of the most beautiful and enchanting stories I've ever read in all the years and in all the fandoms I've ever been in. Simply gorgeous. As soon as I was done, I went right back to the beginning to read it again.
Wow, this is so incredibly kind of you to say! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. That you went back to read it again is making me nervous, haha -- now you will see all the glaring flaws!
Oh my god, this is just beautiful. I love the fairy tale "original" but I adore how you took it and transformed it into something else entirely. I had to take a break after the triplets because I knew the end was coming soon and I wanted to let it soak in a bit more before it ended and I had to let it go. It's such a wonderful combination between fairy tale ritual-like language and there being wall safes and tourists. Just really perfect. Oh, and the coin!! And the way you introduced it and slowly revealed its meaning. Arthur, you knew what heads meant all along! *hearts it all to bits* also found the walking on rainbows totally cool, and Izanami and her story, the parallels to Mal and Don, so fascinating. Ah, and Eames. I love that he is exactly who he is and also has a coin that he gave to Arthur and begged him to keep that means just one thing.
Oh wow, thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad that the interplay of a fairy tale and the real world worked for you -- it was something I struggled with, and it's so reassuring to know that it wasn't totally ineffectual.
Oh, I'm so glad that you liked the coin, too, haha, and Izanami and the other characters. I know it can be hard to invest in OCs/supporting characters sometimes, and I'm so glad you enjoyed them.
I'm glad that Eames felt real to you here! Thank you again for your generosity!
Thank you for writing this, it was quite a ride. Loved the imagery and the way the world is structured in story and words and how the way something is said can change the shape of the world. There's almost a ritualistic bent to everything.
Though the end did leave me wondering, what sort of bird was his youngest sister? A firebird? An Albatross?
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Actually, I really loved the way you put this, "how the way something is said can change the shape of the world". It captures a huge part of the story so pithily, and I'm really, really happy that that was something you pulled from this.
Whoa, I love the idea of a firebird! Haha, thank you so much for your kindness, and for reading.
