Nora's first day at KDO!

Kid's Day Out, that is. I found a program at a local Methodist (I know, I know) church that offers a 3 hour play time from 9-12, M-Rs. It's $10 a visit, $15 for more than one kid. I took Nora for her first day there this morning, and I'm counting the seconds until I can go pick her up and see how she did. Hence the time-burning post. The place ( Read more... )

BBgurls loooooove MDO (same principle, but a little longer and we do it twice a week while I go to school, haha). They used to get kind of upset about it when I left (at first), but now they have such a good time they don't even look back to say bye most of the time :P They talk about their "MDO friends" all the time and identify characters in books that look like them now :)

Yeah, they said she had a good time, so I think we're going to make it a Wednesday habit. Is yours at a regular daycare or something? I'd rather it not be a church, but so far that's all I've found in town. How'd you find yours?

She is her mother's daughter - full of words. :)

Hope it goes well!

I think it always feels worse for us than for them.

I went back to work between babies and I put Gabe in daycare 2 days a wk. He picked up a lot, in terms of social interaction. Daycare was really good for him

I start work again in 3? wks and Dom will go with the same daycare lady that Gabe does. My 8mo isn't crawling OR sitting up yet, so you're doing really well with both of them :)

I think she's really going to get a lot out of daycare. She never really sees any other kids, and having this is going to be a really good thing. It's just getting her used to it, I think.

Gray will be 9 months old this week and he's FINALLY started taking a few crawling steps. Nora did the "army crawl" thing, but he never did, instead he's doing the up on his hands and knees and crawling foward thing. He'll only go a few "steps," before he either sits up or flops on his belly, but I feel so much better that he's started. From what I heard online 9 months is pretty typical for boys to start.

Have fun with yours!!
