If I understand the sign-up form correctly, I don't have any way of narrowing the characters for whom I'm willing to write? Aside from that, I only write in BSG (2003), and I have to offer to write in at least three fandoms? And if I request, I also have to offer?

I'm just trying to clarify, as I've never done this thing before. I'd like to participate, but there are some characters on BSG I just don't get. If I were going to gift someone with a fic, I'd want it to be in character, and preferably good. :)

No problem! Clarification is always good. It sounds like you have it right, though:

- We do require at least three fandom offers; since we're a multifandom exchange we're trying to increase the number of possible matches.

- We very much feel your pain on not wanting to write characters you don't get -- it makes both of us moderators think and rethink our choices every year! -- but at this time we don't match based on characters. Character-based matching is a lot easier to get away with in exchanges that focus on one fandom (or exchanges that are larger than this one). Should I Need My Fics continue to grow we may consider a change in the future.

- There is no way to request a story without making the three required offers. It wouldn't be much of an exchange otherwise! However, if you're just eager to write BSG we will be making all prompts visible at the very end of the exchange. If you see a prompt that appeals to you then you'd be welcome to write a story that fills it and upload that story to the collection as a gift.

The summary doesn't appear to be working, and it says that only two people have signed up so far. Am wondering if this is accurate, or if something is broken?

The summaries never actually generate anything until at least five people have completed their sign-up form, and it's correct that two people have done so at this point. No cause for concern! We're a small exchange so we've never experienced an initial rush the way something the size of Yuletide does, and thanks to having our largest ever number of fandom nominations to choose from this year I can tell you not even we moderators have completed our sign-ups yet! :)
