I'm sure you'll agree, but it sounds to me like he's doing the post breakup reminiscing and thought about you. I'm expecting the same from my ex once her boyfriend bails on her. Anyway, I agree that it's a good thing to stay far away, but on the other hand it doesn't hurt to support him as a friend. Just make sure the friend part is heard loud and clear, and if things get weird be prepared to walk away. Not that I'm one to give advice or anything. :)
