I'm reading through my insurance elections that I just got in the mail, as well as perusing the various prospectus for investing my 401K. Of course, the most agressive portfolios (I'm young, and so those woudl be the ones I want) include stock with walmart and phillip morris and such, and, well, I just refuse to be that hypocrite ( Read more... )

i stopped buying kraft and nabisco foods because i found out they were owned by phillip morris. walmart, however, remains a point of personal contention for me. on the one hand they are a crazy, monopolistic, oppotunistic business, but i can't help but admire the pure genius and innovation it took to put them in the market position they're in today. i struggle to come to terms with that company just because they're so good at being evil; much like [cough mumble cough] ;)
