I am not against animal welfare (read: not rights), in fact, I am for it. When I was a teenager I was supportive of PETA, because I didn't really know what they were all about (and the things that they funded) and the way animal research is really conducted. I do think a lot of it is necessary, unfortunate, maybe--but necessary. I do not and will not support any group that condones and/or funds terrorism, or equates the production of hamburgers with the Holocaust or circuses with slavery ( ... )

Just this week, there was news of activists breaking into the house of a researcher (more).

And there was a TED speech asking which is more important, people or animals?
