Can't... Breathe...

I'm flipping out. I mean actually flipping out. I'm so close to a panic attack it's not even funny. I get like this a few times a year (usually when finals are close) but it's never been this bad before. I'm in a never-ending state of anxiety. I have 13 actual days of school left, and then 3 provincials that I know I'm going to bomb and then summer ( Read more... )

Focus on one problem at a time. You cannot get a job at 11:30 at night, so focus on your homework. A lot of people don't have jobs until after high school, not to mention after tenth grade. If you don't get a job this summer, it's not the end of the world. You can do well on your final projects. You have a great work ethic. Remember that.

There's this theory in Psychology, called a Self-fulfilling prophecy. It's basically the belief that our mindset effects performance. If you believe you'll do poorly you will. If you believe you'll do well and work to achieve that, you will. You are smart. You are responsible. Don't let yourself forget that.

And for god sakes, breathe please.

I have had a couple of panic attacks before. BREATHE. BREATHE. SLOW DOWN.
First, of all You are like an A student. Don't worry about school. They are just some tests
Second, a majority of kids do not have work and will not work until college. I myself am waiting for a call about the job i applied for but if I don't get it, it doesn't make me a failure by any means.
Third. do one thing at a time.
Fourth, remind yourself that it is just school. Worse comes to worse you fail everything (which at this point is impossible) and have to go to summer school.
Fifth, Remind yourself that you have done this in past years and you are a fully capable human being.
Sixth, Listen to very mellow music. Death cab, bloc party, etc.
Seventh, Make love to my body.

You should be fine. Trust me we still have plenty of time before the future gets here.
