My turn to rant about BlogShops

Dec 16, 2008 22:25

I have always been an open minded shopper, or even a tolerant shopper.

BUT. I absolutely dislike blog shop owners who take my email address without my consent and send me spam emails about your SO-CALL LATEST COLLECTION.

I say, SAVE IT.

- being a member of any spree committee does not automatically mean I want to be in your blogshop mailing list.
- If I want to know any updates about your products, I WILL LET YOU KNOW.
- If I don't, you can automatically assume I'm not interested.
- Please show some basic respect by asking me first if I'm keen to be in your list. Even an introductory email with the option to opt out from your mailing list will be polite and leave a better impression on me. If I like what I see, I will definitely support you by being in your mailing list. This is one of the most basic form of CUSTOMER SERVICE.

And Finally, before you even start blasting email about your products, take a damn good look around. Your SO-CALL LATEST COLLECTION IS ALSO THE SO-CALL LATEST COLLECTION FROM ANOTHER BLOGSHOP and god knows how many more like it. I suggest you all go and find a blog shop selling ORIGINALITY before you try selling to people. And yes I know where you get the clothes from and even who are your suppliers. Don't bother unless you have something original to sell. Else don't make yourself sound silly by calling it a collection. Yes, a collection of replicates maybe.

Go and check out what it means in the fashion world what a collection means, before abusing the word all around. In case you don't know where to look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fashion_design#Designing_a_collection
