Back goingness

Not too long an entry, just something to keep this thing updated. Been thinking about the whole Light Grenadier thing (although I think "Light Mortars" might be a more proper translation, since the damned things ARE mortars. But whatevah)...now, I know this is the worst thing that can happen. It's proven simply by the way -everyone- looks and ( Read more... )

I know it seems like you will never survive the thing - but you will, and you would also survive sweeping pavements for a year if that is what it takes. They're not going to kill you or break you into itty bitty pieces.

And yes, right now you may be the laughing stock of the entire base, but if you go out and find someone that has been a light grenadier - I'm sure they aren't the laughing stock anymore, quite the contrary.

So maybe you'll even end up being cool! ;)

No I know, it's hard. But hey, I'm thinking of you and I'm sure you will be fine. :) Hope you'll holler next weekend when you're in.

"end up being cool"? Why, I'm wounded! As if I wasn't cool already!

...erm. Yees, well. Err. As to itsy bitsy pieces...one needs to be in the army to understand the term "hajoo". It's not just mental breaking, it's physical as well. Some days, you feel like a 90-year old. Literally. Creaking joints, hurting knees, back, legs, arms, neck, skin bruised everywhere, feet bandaged, dirt so deep under your fingernails it'll never disappear...

Basically. On the other hand, they probably won't -kill- you...

And I (we) are not laughing stock. They laugh for the same reason you'd laugh if someone fell off the roof : it's funny to laugh at other people's misfortune. In reality, they know we're going to be the toughest motherfuckers on the brigade. ^_^
