I was so excited to see a vid to Daryl with this song that I caught up on Walking Dead just to watch it, and I am super glad I did (even if you weren't actually using footage from recent episodes), because this was awesome.
Oh, Daryl. I love, love the tight close-up on his face on "didn't say how to hold 'em" on the rooftop, and Daryl's willingness to walk away from Merle, even just once, even out of sheer necessity, and how that breaks part of him. I love the flower imagery, and how the inside of Daryl's head is so beautifully represented here as half pragmatic zombie killing and half almost unwilling empathy: how he connects with Carol, and with Sophia, how he's the one to demand they search for Sophia one more time, and he's the one to grab Carol after farm is taken and they're separated. How him protecting people is such a necessary facet of who he is, even if he would deny that under pain of death, and the specter of his brother always there too: how these people Daryl's protecting are what he turned away from his brother for,

This is absolutely amazing. You bring Daryl to life in all his bad-ass, zombie killing glory and his empathic, protective side for those he chooses to show it to. The song fits so well well with the clips. You've breathed life into this.
