I entirely agree with you on many points. (Though I will say that the root of my die-hard K/S shipping *is* the inherent problems their relationship would have--I often ship things not because they're perfect, but because the dynamics involved interest me. They are too perfect for each other, and too different, and while it's not something I see happening in canon the sparks between the actors are almost painfully palpable to me. So. I like going there in my head. Shipping is so often an exercise in alternatives to canon. Though... well, there's OOC evidence you can spin either way
