Goddamn Popups. Will we ever be safe?

I'm becoming extremely annoyed by popups. Not *web* popups, no. System popups - applications grabbing the focus when I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY'RE DOING. iTunes, USB device warnings, install dialogs, update warnings ( Read more... )

Yes, there should be a preference that if you have typed or clicked in a window within the last n second, nothing can steal focus.

Vista on my new work laptop is driving my up the wall with all the pointless notifications about things I couldn't care less about.

Several times a day it tells me that it is disabling the ethernet interface to save battery life. This might be appropriate if was on battery power at the time but I'm on mains power.
It's like a child with ADHD.

I can't help but thing that Microsoft has well and truly lost the plot with windows.
