Why do 'Teen' books tend to suck? Seriously. There is the awful travesty that is the Twilight series (I don't care if you read them, but really, diamond skinned vampires? Come on.) and those stupid Gossip Girl/Clique/Whatever series. There is the cringe-worthy book 'The Astonishing Adventures of Fan Boy and Goth Girl' which looks so, so promising ( ( Read more... )

YAY YOU REALLY LIKED HERO!!! It sounded awesome :-).

Surrender rocks my socks! As well as a bunch of other books that you probably wouldn't like.

Before I go into that, though, I must agree with you on "The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl" which sounded so incredibly awesome just by its title...and then...it turns out to SUCK BEYOND BELIEF! WHAT THE HECK.

Anyways, here is my list of BOOKS THAT YOU PROBABLY WOULDN'T LIKE.
1. Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac
2. An Abundance of Katherines (I bet you'd like this).
3. Looking for Alaska (maybe)
4. Elsewhere (the concept is awesome :D)
5. The Book of Flying, which, while being extremely graphic and purple, is also kinda good.

Also, I must confess that I read Gossip Girl and enjoy them. It's IRONIC, you see. :-).

WELL HELLO YOU.
Hero was indeed awesome. And I liked Surrender too, for all it's weirdness.
An Abbundance of Katherines! I knew there was a book that needed to be on my Reading List! Thank you for reminding me, O Anonymous One. And I need to finish Book of Flying, and then send it back to its mysterious owner. :D

i advise you to read (if you haven't already) The Bloody Jack series, The Piratica books, The Pyraidian Chronicles, the Shadow Children books and... *goes and gets list*... the Pendragon books are okay, Inkheart, The Montmorency books, anything by Tamora Pierce except the circle of magic books, the Gemma Doyle books, Pirates! by Celia Reese was excellent, Carol Plum-Ucci books (specifically What Happened to Lani Garver and The Body of Christopher Creed), The Silver Crown by Robert C O'Brien is also excellent, Alice Hoffman's books are good, and the Maximum Ride books. Now all of that is just my opinion and I'll practically read anything because as everyone knows I eat the books with my mind*

*according to my mother, and apparently also according to my mother i make sounds of contentment while reading

I'm sure Abby would love to meet you too. Because you are awesome, and everyone should meet you. :D
I love East, own it several times over. (Seriouisly,I keep losing copies and having to buy it again. It's ridiculous)
I've heard of Robin McKinley, and have read everything that takes place in Tortall. And also know that Tamora Pierce tried to write a gay relationship between Duke Roger and Thom (projecting! He was totally after Alanna!...And Alex...) but her editors wouldn't allow it. :D
Did not like Sabriel. I am clearly a heathen who must be shunned!
And I love Count of Monte Cristo. Good book! Need to reread it...
And I have read the Wrinkle in Time quartet. I refuse to believe there is a fifth book.
