as a fan, I have to admit that one Harlan Ellison is more than enough.
:)

I read a great profile on Pekar that avoided writing on American Splendor and his "curmudgeonly but truthful slice of life stories" style I've read too many examples of, and focused instead on his life as a jazz critic and a serious reader (Pekar's apparently a encyclopediac follower of modern fiction). It was considerably different that most write ups and treated Harvey more seriously and with more respect to his intelligence than many profiles I've read. The soundtrack to the AS film includes some outstanding jazz cuts, mostly bop era stuff.

This was advertised in the back of The Comics Journal as I recall in the 80s. Kaluta was definately up for it. I contacted Gary Groth and perhaps with enough critical mass Ellison will finish the script (I hope so ( ... )
