i think there are more variants on the matching tools for paid acct users, for example the directory which i've never used. the nesting comments also a good idea since it's hard to see who's responding to what. i've seen lj pages that work like that but don't know if it's due to the number of comments, or a paid-only toggle that you can use. looked in the faq quickly to no avail.
also: the difference between the userinfo=(name) and the userinfo=(name)&mode=full is annoying to me. i would rather have full be the default - i'm always interested in how many comments someone's made versus how many received, and how old the journal is.
edited to add: the capability to edit comments would be awesome as opposed to just deleting and starting again.

if you go to the editjournal page and type in the name of a community you belong to, lj takes you to the first post in that community - regardless of who wrote it. it comes up as if you can edit it, though the FAQ says you can't.
