I sent a guy in HR with eBay an email today asking him about the status of my application.  He wrote back saying that they've decided to go with other candidates, or some such politely worded BS.  So basically after doing the job for which they're hiring for two years, I'm not even qualified to get an interview

As frustrating as this is, it sure sounds better than a few months ago. And let me know if you get on a 900 number. ;)

Do you mean a few months ago when I still had a job? Cuz actually you'd be right. I am happier now than I was then. I realized I was increasingly bitter at how they had treated me, especially my 2007 performance rating which was bullshit. So it was time for a change. Too bad it couldn't be on my own terms.

And I'm afraid I'd blush and giggle too much to actually do the phone sex line thing. :-) I have a friend who did it for awhile and she hated it. But it pays like $20 an hour, so it's a running joke between me and my friend Josh that we're going to start working as phone sex operators.
