Ya know, I would write more every day if I knew what was happening in this part of the book. The word count crawls upward slowly as I struggle to figure out this subplot. I thought I'd try to skip it and write a different POV a few chapters ahead, but I keep finding that I need to know what happens here first. And I have to write it to find out ( Read more... )

I usually can go for a long walk and talk it out in my head, then when I get home write it out.

Yeah, that can work. Not now though. I've been writing at night, it's well below freezing outside, and there's a layer of snow on the ground. Not my idea of a fun way to clear my head at the moment.

You've mentioned the novels you've written before. How many have you done and what are they about? Any plans to polish them and try to get them published?

first one is about teenage magic-users in new england who fight a dragon

working on the second one sort of now, "dating and drugs in Seattle" - kind of an ensemble piece, follow one person then follow his ex then follow her roommate, kind of thing. And one of the characters is a former youth pastor who got arrested after giving teenagers Ecstasy.
