As I've said, I love the Winter Olympics. Here's my sum up of the games in Turino this year ( Read more... )

i didn't really watch the olympics much. i liked the bobsleding and the ski jumping (i think it's called something smarter than just "ski jumping", right?) and, i agree, bode miller is a tard.

I missed out on bobsledding too... To me, it pretty much looks like a rollercoaster that you have to catch up to and jump in. Although I'm sure there's actually more to it than that.

during the woman's bobsledding where there are 2 people in the bobsled, one of the women's bobsled tipped over so they went about halfway down the run (the second half) on their heads. i would have been freaking out!

What a great summarizing entry. I'm so sad the olympics are over, but so glad you updated. And friend, we will be in Vancouver. Get your curling brush? Stick? broom? wand? bat? club? Get your curling apparatus ready.

I'm going to call it an iron. Because I have a terrible sense of humor.
Is it weird that when we don't talk in some form for more than like a day and a half, I sort of go through withdrawals?

Curling iron! I'm not going to lie, it took me a minute. Okay, it took me more than a minute, but I've been asleep all day.

I totally agree...after 18 hours of no K, I feel totally out of touch with what's going on with your life. I wish our lives were so exciting that after 18 hours, we had a lot to catch up on.

Yay, you came back! Didn't mean to call you out in my drunk entry, but at least I deleted all the mean things I said about other people. How are things?
Good call on the speed skating... it's like tennis players who have that one huge arm. There's a guy at my work like that. I always think about Infinite Jest.
At a certain point, I just wanted Bode Miller to do something totally embarassing like fall on his ass and get whacked in the back of the head by the chair lift. And then I wanted him to cry in public.
I think the name Slutskaya swayed them somehow. I call bullshit on the new scoring system, by the way, partly because it allowed the men's gold medalist to get so incredibly ahead that there was no hope for anyone else, and mostly because it allowed Sasha Crazysmile to medal at all. I'm betting right now that she pulls a Michelle Kwan in four years.

I promise on Chad Herricks fake teeth--
I have seen curling, it was on around 2 a.m. on a Sunday.
They were costumes, I mean outfits, uniforms? What's the word? I don't know but they could pass for working at Blockbuster.

By the time we're gold medalists in curling, we'll have petitioned the royal board of curlers or whatever it is to let us wear something more stylish.
This of course after we win the national bowling championships with our stylish blue balls.

Yeah, I hate living in a place where the average winter temp is closer to 50F, if only because of the lack of pretty winter-sporting boys. It's unfortunate.
