The drones? I think it's because the ones that weren't like us were basically like the back ground characters in a TV show. There to fill out the crowd but you're not supposed to remember any of 'em.

They don't just look the same, they also follow prescripted patterns of behavior.

I see... It's really very strange. Though I notice there are extremely small differences in the shades of the hair, but that seems about it other than the clothes that are different.
