I didn't think i'd post anything about 9.11.01, but i just read something that is worth sharing.
Lots of the parking lots in Hoboken, NJ and Jersey City, NJ where a lot of people commute from were cars that nobody had come back to get. There was an apartment complex near me that my friend lived in, and the management had put fliers on everyone's ( Read more... )

I keep mentioning i was 3 miles away to people hoping someone will be impressed. Finally some turkish guy I know, his eyes widened at it. Took two years and 363 days to get that.

I still have the email from my friend Nick (you met him once) asking if i was alright "where are you????? I want to know you're ok! Love nick" something liek that and I realized he really cared. it was amazing. to have people care like that. but anyway.

I wonder what I would have thought of the 9/11 situation if I was still in my Randian high. I would have had a different view on it by far. Would have been very emotional, moved, passionate about it and constantly wanting to know more.

I don't know. I just don't know.

It is really weird something like that happened here. we're too sophisticated it seems. untouchable. but yet there is a whole world out there waiting to permeate that shield of invulnerability and make us part of what we see on the evening news.
