Oh, I really enjoyed it, possible because it was filler. I was traumatised last week by presence of mum + little girl (AAARGH); this seemed a little more meandering. Loved George. Why would Mitchell run to creepy Lucy for comfort though? Don't get it.
Spotted the Herrick line; and adored the return of Herrick himself. God that man's talented at nasty. Confused at what on earth Daisy and Ivan are doing.
I liked the ghost baby but I thought they'd do more with it. Is it just to point up the 'missing out life' thing?
I think that maybe I am biased by not liking vampire angst in general and I am thus more meh than I should be. (I'm not watching True Blood for the same stupid reason.) I like the show much better when it focuses on Annie and George. That's odd because I do like Mitchell.
I don't know why Mitchell is flinging himself at Lucy, unless it's that she's talking to him and George isn't, particularly. And none of them are talking to Annie. All her significant storylines this year have come with other people: Saul, the nice barman, Sykes and now ghost!baby (and you're right about that storyline not quite going anywhere).
The first season played Mitchell as charming, so I don't quite understand how Lucy became his sole human outlet (so to speak)
You're right about Herrick though. He was so good last year that it was a pleasure to see him instructing his not-so-young padawan
George said his mother's maiden name was Herrick. I didn't catch that, OMG!
I adored that girl turning out to be Josie. I'd always sort of assumed that Mitchell needed someone to be clean for, because I'd always thought that this time around that person was George, so I didn't much enjoy the implication (with Lucy and Josie) that sexual love is the only sort worth changing your life for.

Yes. The thought sort of occurred to me when Mitchell kept not killing her and the timestamp was 1969 but I usually get this stuff wrong, so I was delighted that she was. She really had a look of the young Claire Higgins as well, which helped.
I think maybe you're right that Mitchell needs someone to give up for (and look after, like he looked after his men by cutting the deal with Herrick) The main problem I am having with the past two/three episodes is that my lovely found family are not a family any more; they're not even speaking to each other. While their individual stories are interesting, I like it best when it's about George, Mitchell, Annie (and Nina) talking to each other and helping each other.
You've reminded me that I have yet to see any of the new Being Human episodes. Tragedy! I shall have to remedy this and perhaps treat myself while on the mend later this week.
Sorry about all the extra work, but extra money can be good motivation.
have yet to see this (went to see invictus instead) and any Herrick is good Herrick as far as I'm concerned. oooooo to George's mum indeed.
Trying to remember - did they give us any idea when Herrick was turned? I vaguely remember an impression that it was pre-Georgian but that may be brainfarts.
I read your review of Invictus, and now I want to see it. I like sports movies and I like Clint Eastwood movies, so it goes on the list.
I don't remember them saying when Herrick was turned, though they might have in the first pilot, back when he was played by Adrian Lester. I don't even know if he's older than Ivan. I suspect we might see Ivan leading the vampires soon, against Mitchell's new clean regime. Otherwise I can't see much point in him hanging around.
