I don't know. You would think I would have got the hang of this life thing now. But apparently I have not ( Read more... )

That sounds interesting, though contemporary fiction is not usually my thing.

I did the same thing with "Germinal", the throwing it against hte wall and being glad I read it thing.

I am not sure it would be your thing either. I am not even sure how well it would translate because so much of the pleasure of it is how it evokes the time. Plus, I think you would lose patience with Dexter's dickishness. It is well-written though.

Thanks for the book rec, although it's not available in the US yet. I've stashed in on my wish list, and it's certainly NOT as though I don't have 180 (probably close to actual number) books languishing in my to be read mountain to keep me amused until the US release.

Sorry for what sounds like a couple of wearying and/or rage inducing weeks of late. Hope things improve vastly and soon!

I sympathise on the book mountain. I have a book hillock of my own. ;)

If you figure it out, let me know. I'm up, showered, and dressed most days; I'm taking that as my win.

I like the way you hid the weather report behind your back. You do know that it's bound to be an improvement on here, right?

Thanks for the kind words. I have had a miserable week (somewhat self-inflicted). This week will be better, as I hope yours will be.
