Better Call Saul S2
The wait for this was so long I nearly forgot about the show. I checked out the first two eps of S2 and so far...
I'm not terribly impressed. I suppose I expected them to carry on the momentum at the end of last season, but ep 1 really seemed like filler for most of it. I know they're trying to convey Jimmy is totally unhappy, but I didn't need nearly 5 minutes of flashforward (or flashpresent, whatever) to show that. They did it in S1. Then they go back and fill in what happened at the firm. I think we can figure out what happened just from the last ep of S1. The first 10 minutes is a big nothing.
Also not happy about Jimmy and Kim hooking up. Just a personal thing. I guess knowing it's going nowhere is a big problem there.
The Mike part was the best part of eps 1 and 2 which surprised me 'cause I'm not a Mike fan. It was a little obvious, though. The squat cobbler gag was a little over the top for me, though it does illustrate Jimmy's ability to sell anything quite well. Hard to believe this guy had those baseball cards in toploaders and not plexiglass frames. He's an idiot, I know, but still.
I'm certainly not going to stop watching, but I do hope they get more into Jimmy-Chuck soon. I hope Nacho sticks around as well.
