Boredom-Inspired Buffy Post

As a distraction from things, I watched 7x2. Randomly this brought me to wondering how long certain storylines lasted. More specifically S6 Spuffy. More more specifically, how long they were doing their thing. It's probably been discussed before but I can't remember it ( Read more... )

I tried googling and didn't find anything. I'm sure someone has at some point, though.

I, for one, appreciate this kind of attention to tomfoolery detail! Go you! Before this, I just went by the air dates: boring.

Also, it makes sense to me that tax day would push Buffy out of her escape from reality. Boo.

The hot-footed pace of the first half of the season really adds to the narrative and makes it very plausible, especially on a Spuffy level. If we accept that she is resurrected on Oct. 16--which is the airdate, but also 147 days from The Gift's airdate, so probably the actual date--then the tumult of Flooded, Life Serial, All the Way, OMWF and Tabula Rasa on in three weeks makes Smashed make sense.

Starting with the latter half of S5, the show gets, super, super serialized. I've always wondered if that didn't play a part in people getting turned off. Back then it wasn't very popular to do TV that way, not like today.
