So this is more or less my nitpicky, fanboyish "review" of Watchmen which I just saw today with my loving girlfriend, Katie. It's long. If you decide to read it, I thank you for your time.
There be spoilers. OH yes. I warned you.
( Watchmen Review )
i agree with most of your review- loved the faithfulness, loved rorschach, loved the intro. and though i agree with some of your criticisms, i feel the need to defend some of these choices. yes, malin ackerman could have done a better job, but i think her character was doomed from the start: laurie is the product of comparing generations of heroes and also an object of juxtaposition with both the comedian and her mother, both of whom disappeared from most of the second half of the film (whether it be a directorial choice or the result of the script's direction). however, i will concede that ackerman could have done a more convincing job in the mars scenes. adrian on the other hand, while i agree that matthew goode may not have been the perfect actor choice, i will say he was more a victim of the script direction and screentime edits than of his own doing. you didn't think his scene with lee iacocca reflected his power and influence? maybe the connection between veidt and his company wasn't as clear as it should have been
