Rating: PG-13
Pairing: John/Paul
Disclaimer: As fake as something that's really damn fake.
Summary: "...but then, another, smaller part of him would whisper in his ear, something vague and distant about how maybe this was the real John, the one you only saw past glimpses of in fairy tales of Olde."
(
Quite simply, people didn't know John Lennon at all like Paul did. )

And that idea of Paul as a moderator, a go-between for John and the world...man, that's just so amazing and TRUE. I love it, and I think you put into words something I've always felt, somehow, but never knew how to say.
And this is perfection:
To say that he only wished to figure out that epitome of mystery that was the boy two years his senior, to even come close to knowing was an understatement; Paul could easily dedicate his life to it, to John.
Thanks for yet another absolutely wonderful piece! This, too, is going straight to my Memories, because I know I'm going to need to reread this again and again. :)

“To do what?” John sighed again, his fingers threading absently in the grass.
“To send messages from…beyond, you know? There must be one, and if there’s a will, there’s a way, I suppose. I think you need a really special bond for it to work; something other-worldly, maybe.”
“If you get to the other side first, will you tell me what’s there?” John smiled at this, big and bright, and the universe seemed to turn everything up a notch.
“Yeah, Paul, of course I will.”
I am sure he does....as they had a special bond.
This was so beautiful, you left me speechless. Thanks a lot!
