Reid looks up from his paperwork, which is sprawled out across the desk that Luke bought him for their first anniversary. Luke momentarily wonders if Reid will burn it.
Yes, Luke knows Reid so well. He understand him, which is why he knows he has to be honest with him and break his heart. He knows it would be impossible to live a lie with this man.
How does anyone say this out loud? How does anyone verbalize something that will ruin their life?
This has to be the hardest thing for Luke. I don't know how you knowing break the heart of the person you love most in the world. But I guess the truth is more important at that moment. I don't envy him here.
