I just returned from one of my best weekends ever. There were 20 of us, out camping in a park along Lake Huron. Gorgeous beach, great weather; the water was cold but very clean and refreshing. It's 9:20 PM and I'm back at school-home and I have a cold. I kidnapped my Amiga 1k from Ottawa, and last night I gave it a bath. I hope that next Monday I will have a chance to try and get it to talk to my debian box (plum), or maybe peach. Last night I made peach a QNX box which is sweet. The weather is beautiful and almost warm enough. School is busy but fun. I want a plant or two.

I'm now the CSC's treasurer, and MathSoc's postings director, and a CS student representative on MathSoc Council, for which I'm also the secretary. I'm also trying to help out with the rewrite of the math undergrad student handbook. And then there's ( Read more... )

Today I went to a MathSoc council meeting and somehow became the secretary. If I get too involved with the CSC or other areas of MathSoc then I'll just have to resign, but in the meantime it will give me more of a chance to use my amazing laptop. Yesterday morning at around 5am, some engineering students took over a crane outside my house. They attached a big sign on the end that said "Mechs on the Beach", which is apparently the class name for a group of 4th-year mechanical engineers. Today has been a very happy day. Not for any particular reason, but just because. Last night I was very worried I wouldn't get enough stuff done for today, and I went to bed at 7am.
